What’s the Difference?
From the above chart, we only found one distinguishing feature that the other doesn’t have. The duo is split about having an additional accessory: a water filter.
As a newer model, the Keurig K475 is “upgraded” by a water filter starter kit which the K425 doesn’t have.
Is a water filter necessary?
Does this addition of water filter alter the taste of your coffee?
Not really, says a majority of K425 avid users. And we agree with that!
Know more about Keurig K425 vs K475
Both models are part of the Keurig 2.0/400 series product line. The k475 was introduced after the K450 had been discontinued. The K450 was compatible with older K-cups which other Keurig models don’t.
Surprisingly, both models can brew 4, 6, 8 and 10 oz for K-cup sizes; 12, 14, 16, 18 oz for K-mug sizes; and 22, 26, 30 oz for K-carafe sizes.
Even the machines’ dimensions are nearly identical. The k425 has dimensions of 10.4” x 13.6” x 13.5”; while the K475 has a measurement as follows: 10.4” x 13.6” x 13.4” (which are the machine’s length, width, and height, respectively).
Incidentally, both machines weigh 8 lbs. each, so nothing changes here.
Note the difference in height of only 0.10 of an inch, which is quite negligible.
Also, both products have a capacity of 70 oz (water reservoir).
The Keurig K425 and K475 coffee brewers are also designed to brew hot cocoa, tea, and other hot beverages so the whole family got to enjoy their versatility.
What about the machines’ compatibility?
Both K425 and K475 are compatible with k-cup carafe pods.
Either model can brew other company’s pods (such as Green Mountain coffee), as well as they are compatible with the other Keurig 2.0 packs (such as the K300, K400, and K500 series).
So, what’s our verdict?
Now we know the minute difference between Keurig K426 vs. K475 coffee brewers, we wish to end the long battle about the curiosity. The truth is; both machines are capable of giving you the best tasting coffee you always long for every day.
Even your entire family can enjoy other sweet beverages (like hot cocoa) or a hot tea for those who want to lose weight simply by using either the Keurig K425 or K475.
Moreover, the other difference that we see between these products is the price. Currently, the K475 is priced lower than K425.
The catch is; K425’s water filter starter kit (a replacement set) sells for $10 to $12 on average. Each cartridge may last for 2 months.
Now, if you are not sure about the integrity of your tap water, you may opt for a coffee maker with a water filter, just like the Keurig K475.
